Iola High School had two players named to the 2011 Burlington High Invitational all-tournament teams. The teams were announced Saturday following the championship contests.
Juniors Kendra Taiclet and Jerrik Sigg received the honors. The Fillies and Mustangs went 1-2 in tournament play and both finished sixth.
Also the Burlington tournament names an all-academic team. Players along with spirit squad members and managers and statisticians with grade point averages above 3.5 are recognized from each school. The top 12 scholar/athletes are named to the all-academic team.
Iola High’s Caitlyn Callaway of the spirit squad along with Mustang players Clint Heffern, Christian Kauth, Charles Apt and Eli Grover — all with 4.0 GPAs — were on the all-academic team.
