ARMA — Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats got thumped by Three Rivers League leading Northeast High’s Vikings Tuesday night.
“We struggled getting the ball down the court,” said Denny Lasley, Wildcat head coach, about the 54-23 loss in which the Wildcats had 21 turnovers.
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 6-10 overall. They are 2-5 in the TRL. Marmaton Valley steps out of league play Friday playing at Southern Coffey County High.
Northeast kept the Wildcats in check throughout the contest starting with a 16-6 run in the first quarter. The Vikings led the Wildcats 33-15 at halftime.
Marmaton Valley could muster only seven points in the second half.
Zach Louk led the Wildcats with seven points and three rebounds. Lucas Hamlin also had three rebounds while Derrick Carr had three assists.
Chase Cleland fired in 23 points for Northeast. John Baker added 14 points.
