MORAN — Three Marmaton Valley High players earned All-Three Rivers League softball honors for their prowess on the diamond in 2013.
Freshman Ashlynn Pinkerton, the Wildcats’ starting shortstop, earned first-team honors.
Left fielder Kacie Shadden and infielder Kaitlin Ensminger earned honorable mention.
While all three were pivotal cogs for the Wildcat offense, they truly shined on defense, head coach Brenda Mills said.
“That’s what we were looking for, defensive improvement,” Mills said.
Shadden, a senior, earned league honors all four years, Mills said, while Ensminger has received honorable mention twice.
The Wildcats went 3-12 on the season, losing in the first round of the Class 2-1A regional playoffs to Arma-Northeast.
