Wildcats can’t keep up with Jayhawk-Linn

The Yates Center Wildcats suffered a bit of a setback, but hope to regain their momentum when they return to the hardwood Tuesday.

The Yates Center Wildcats dropped Thursday’s Three Rivers League showdown against Jayhawk-Linn 53-34.

The Wildcats struggled out of the gate with the Jayhawks jumping out to a 29-7 lead by halftime and only adding to their advantage from there. 

Yates Center junior guard Cayten Cummings had a team-leading 17 points, followed by senior guard Kinley Morrison with 7 points and sophomore guard McKynzee Burkholder with 5 points and senior forward Aubrey Chambers had a bucket. 

With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 6-9 overall and 3-4 in the TRL. 

On Friday, the Wildcats faced Altoona-Midway. Results were not available by press time. They host Uniontown Tuesday. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
