The Marmaton Valley Wildcats boys and girls track teams came home with a few medals while competing in the Jayhawk-Linn Invitational Monday.
The boys finished eighth overall while the girls finished 10th in an event loaded with athletes the Wildcats will see at the regional meet.
A host of first-place finishes lifted the boys to success. Senior Todd Stevenson took first in the triple jump (40’ 7”) and second in the long jump (19’ 2”). Junior a 39’ 5” throw in shot put for fifth place.
In girls action, senior Kylah Sander took third in the 200-meter dash with a 30.08-second run and freshman distance runner Tayleigh Forman took fifth in the 3200 with a 15:30 run.
