OSWEGO — The Marmaton Valley Wildcats and Southern Coffey County Titans brought home some hardware while competing at Tuesday’s Oswego Invitational.
Although dozens of athletes competed in dozens of competitions, Marmaton Valley’s Cooper Scharff stood out among the crowd with multiple medals in multiple events.
Scharff posted his first top-three finish in the 100-meter dash, where he took third in 12.23 seconds. Scharff later took second in the long jump with a 20-foot, 6-inch leap, and second in javelin with a 131’, 3 throw.
Junior Dagan Barney continues gaining recognition with a slew of medals in throwing events. He opened with a second-place finish in discus with a throw over 129 feet. He also took second in shot put with a more than 40-foot throw.
SCC freshman Karter Koehn took sixth in the high jump at 5’8”.
FOR THE GIRLS, freshman Clara Ferguson continues making a name for herself after taking second in shot put with a 30’-9” throw and fourth in discus with a 75’-5” throw.
Senior Kylah Sander took third in the long jump with a 13’-6” leap, fourth in the 200-meter dash with a 29.48 second run and fifth in the 100-meter dash in 14.26 seconds.
