After roaring into their final triangular of 2025 with a full head of steam and winning three of their last four games, the Yates Center Wildcats came up short of playing for a share of the Three Rivers League title.

The Wildcats, 19-12 overall and 12-2 in league play, fell to Pioneer League foe Jayhawk-Linn in straight sets 25-20, 25-14.

The loss tied them for second place in the Pioneer League standings with the Erie Red Devils (18-19, 12-2). Following Tuesday’s action, the Wildcats begin preparing for the 2A Regional Tournament, which they will host this year.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Wildcats are the fourth seed.
