
Anderson County High’s Caitlyn Foltz and Brayden Wheat had a night for the ages Tuesday.
Foltz — one of the top girls on the hardwood in the state — drilled 11 3-pointers as the Bulldogs opened the War on 54 Tournament with a 79-10 win over Yates Center.
Anderson County kept up the pressure from the outset, racing to a 41-1 lead at the break.
Foltz was just getting warmed up.
She hit six treys in the third quarter alone as the margin swelled to 68-5, and two more in the final eight minutes to wind up with 39 points.
The young Wildcat squad falls to the consolation bracket against Marmaton Valley at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Iola High School for semifinal round action. Anderson County takes on Cherryvale at 3:30 p.m. at Iola Elementary School.

THE BOYS game featuring both schools was nearly a carbon copy.
Wheat ripped the nets with seven 3-pointers as the Bulldogs raced out to a 76-15 win over Yates Center.
Anderson County led 27-4 after one quarter and 41-7 at the break.
Wheat wound up with 34 points.
Jarrett Birk scored nine to lead the Wildcats.
Yates Center will take on Humboldt in consolation semifinal play at 5 p.m. Thursday at the IHS gym. Anderson County tangles with Crest at 5 p.m. at the elementary school.
