HUMBOLDT — Yates Center High’s girls grabbed an early lead against host and rival Humboldt High Friday and cruised from there in a 44-12 win.
The win lifts Yates Center’s record to 5-10 on the season and 3-7 in Tri-Valley League.
“We got a lot of points off our press tonight,” Yates Center head coach Abbie Collins said. “The girls came out and played well.”
Emily Baker drained five three-pointers to lead the Wildcats with 15 points. Cherokee Shaffer had 10 rebounds. Jessica Hartwig had five steals.
Sheri Middleton led Humboldt with four points.
The Wildcats host Fredonia on Tuesday. Humboldt travels to Neodesha Monday.
