The Easter Sunday service was presented by guest speaker Pastor Dale Thiele. He gave each person a plastic egg with a message and spoke from Matthew 28:1-10 for his message, “He’s Alive-Go Tell.”
Mary Magdalene and Jesus’ mother Mary went to the tomb where Jesus was laid. The tomb was open and an angel was sitting on the stone. The angel told them to not be afraid, he is not here, he has risen from the dead as he had promised. Then the angel told them to tell the disciples what had happened. This account is repeated throughout the Bible in Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8, Luke 24:46-48 and Romans 10:14-15.
What is stopping you from spreading your faith with others? “You did not choose Me, but I chose you, I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that fruit should remain, so that whatever you as the Father in My name, He will give you.” — John 15:16.
Acts tells us that God shows no favoritism, and accepts those who fear him and do what is right. Faith must include works. “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” — James 2:26.
The Biblesta parade committee will host Sunday lunch on April 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 1216 Hawaii Road, Humboldt. A free-will offering will be accepted.
