HUMBOLDT — The Allen County Childcare Task Force will host a Childcare Provider Resource Fair from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Growing Place, 1050 Industrial Rd.
The task force is a coalition made up of The Growing Place, Grow at Eden and Child Care Aware of Kansas.
The resource fair is designed to connect childcare providers with organizations that can offer support, said Patrick Zirjacks, community engagement coordinator with Thrive Allen County.
“It’s an opportunity for childcare providers to visit with people who might be able to help them,” Zirjacks said.
Representatives from several regional organizations will be on hand, including the Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEK-CAP) and the Kansas Department for Children and Families.
“Childcare providers sometimes feel like lone rangers,” Zirjacks said. “There is quite a bit of help out there. This resource fair helps bring that help to them.”
