Kansas Appleseed will host “Justice for All: The Future of Kansas Courts” — a conversation on the upcoming election on a constitutional amendment to elect Kansas Supreme Court justices.
The event is at 6 p.m., Thursday, in the Riverside Park community building.
The Kansas Supreme Court has long been protected from partisan influence through a merit-based selection system for Supreme Court justices. That system is now under the microscope.
In August, Kansas voters will be asked to decide on a proposed constitutional amendment that would dismantle the current system and call for the election of justices.
The event is open to the public.
