Richmond stabbing suspect arrested

A 20-year-old Thayer man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a business employee while trying to steal a vehicle in a Richmond parking lot.

RICHMOND — A suspect is behind bars after he reportedly stabbed a victim while in the process  of attempting to steal the victim’s vehicle.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said Phillip Dyche, 20, Thayer, was attempting to steal the vehicle while it was parked in a business parking lot along U.S. 59 in Richmond.

The victim was an employee of the business, according to the report.

Two other employees subdued the victim as he attempted to flee, holding him until law enforcement arrived.

The victim was transported by air ambulance to a regional hospital for treatment, and is expected to survive, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

Dyche is being charged with aggravated battery, attempted aggravated robbery, interfering with law enforcement, unlawful distribution of marijuana, no drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.
