Iola Elks Lodge No. 569 will donate 100 bags of non-perishable food items to area school districts before the extended holiday break. The bags were filled with 15 items of assorted foods, ranging from instant oatmeal, mac and cheese, ramen noodles, granola bars and more.
Elks member Becky Anderson, who coordinated the service project, said the Lodge plans to carry out a similar project in the spring.
