The fall portion of Iola’s semi-annual residential cleanup will be Oct. 4-8.
This year’s is a little different in that household and lawn waste must be placed in separate piles, because of Allen County Landfill regulations that require lawn clippings, brush and tree limbs to be placed in one area and household waste in another.
Pickup is for residential waste only. Also, no demolition or construction debris, tires, auto parts, waste oil, hazardous waste or anything else prohibited at the landfill will be hauled. Furniture and Freon-free appliances will be hauled.
Reservations for pickup are required ahead of cleanup week and may be made by calling city offices at 365-4900 or 365-4903 until 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1.
Debris should be placed near the street but well away from gas meters to keep them from being damaged.
