It is already looking a lot like Christmas at Diamond Daisy, on the south side of the square.
The business, formerly known as Iola Greenhouse, is filled with colorful flowers and plants, as well as a wide selection of Christmas ornaments, wreaths, garland and other decorations for the holidays.
In addition, jewelry and other Christmas gifts are available, noted Jackie Smith, whose daughter, Kelli Spears, owns the shop.
Diamond Daisy relocated to 1 E. Madison in March after Spears was ordered to vacate the greenhouse’s long-time quarters at 704 E. Lincoln because of structural problems with the building.
A small army of friends and family helped move Diamond Daisy to its new home downtown.
The effort paid off, with an elegant showroom filled with tasteful displays from wall to wall.
Holiday shoppers are invited to Diamond Daisy’s grand opening celebration Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with all merchandise on sale for 25 percent off the original price. Fall decor will be sold at a 50 percent discount. Special drawings for prizes will be held throughout the day.
To coincide with other Christmas activities next week, Spears will sell Christmas merchandise at 25 percent off during Diamond Daisy’s open house Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Again, fall decor will be 50 percent off.
Special Christmas prizes will be given away during the open house.
The store’s normal hours run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Spears can be reached at 365-7447.
