The first of seven Lenten breakfasts is at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of Buckeye and Madison streets.
The breakfasts are free and for the public to enjoy a time of worship, fellowship and home-cooked food. They are sponsored by the Iola Area Ministerial Alliance and last less than an hour.
The schedule for the rest of the season is Ward Chapel A.M.E., March 16; First Baptist Church, March 23; St. John’s Catholic Church, March 30; Calvary United Methodist, April 13; and First Christian Church, April 20.
