Folk singer Carrie Newcomer spent time Tuesday afternoon with a pair of local Girl Scout Brownie troops prior to her public performance at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center. Newcomer sang songs and spoke about learning to play guitar and write songs. Her visit to Iola was sponsored by the Sleeper Family Trust.
