Wednesday is Sunny Shreeve’s last day with Thrive Allen County, where she has been project director since shortly after it was up and running four years ago.
Shreeve will start work Thursday as director of the Humboldt USD 258 after-school program.
Shreeve, Humboldt, said she is excited for a new opportunity and challenges.
As project director for Thrive, Shreeve organized two Allen County Meltdowns, which together had more than 700 people enrolled, and one for southeast Kansas that drew 500 participants. She also was involved in four Jingle Bell Jogs, three Mad Bomber Runs, and has been helping with plans for July 4.
Her focus with Thrive has been to discourage tobacco use and encourage fitness and good nutrition among Allen Countians.
She will be able to translate some of those things to action in the Humboldt school district’s after-school program, she said.
