Larry L. Hessling, 73, Wheatfield, Ind., passed away Jan. 6, 2016.
Larry was born Sept. 21, 1942, in Rensselaer, Ind. Larry graduated from Hebron High School. He served in the U.S. Marines, and worked as a steel worker at LTV Steel for 40 years. On March 25, 1962, he married Judy Stewart in Wheatfield. He owned and operated Hessling’s Christmas Trees for over 25 years. He attended Laurel Church in Merrillville.
His wife survives, as do two daughters, Laura (David) Tidd and Julie (Jim) Clark; three grandsons, Jordan (Sarah) Clark, Andrew (Suky) Blank and Mark Blank; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jazzlynn and Judah Clark, 6 stepgrandchildren, Joshua, Joel, Jason, Jonathan, Jennifer and Jessica Tidd; two sisters, Vicki (Jerry) Lowman and Teresa Cervik; and one brother, Jerry Hessling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Jay Hessling and Archie and Forence Reed; son-in-law, John L Blank III; and sister-in-law, Sandy Hessling.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. today at Boersma Funeral Home, Wheatfield, Pastor Lawrence Raftery officiating. Interment will take place at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
