Leota Mae Waddell, 94, Moran, formerly of Kincaid, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Allen County Hospital.
She was born on July 5, 1917, in the old Allen County Hospital in LaHarpe, the daughter of Walter and Stella (Leake) Adams.
She married George S. Waddell on June 5, 1937, in Kearney, Neb. They lived in Kearney for two years before moving to Humansville, Mo., and then Bolivar, Mo. In 1947, they purchased a 160-acre farm, where they made their home and raised their nine children for 52 years.
She was a member of Kincaid Methodist Church and cooked for many years at the Kincaid Diner.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 20, 1974; four sons, Larry, Dale, Danny and Terry; three brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Waddell of Walnut; four sons, Ronald of Indianapolis, Walter of Butler, Jerry of South Coffeyville, Okla., and David and his wife, Amber, of Pomona; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kincaid/Selma First United Methodist Church in Kincaid with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Moran.
