All-State football selections were announced over the weekend and several athletes received honorable mention.
For the Wichita Eagle, Iola senior lineman Nic Zimmerman was named as both an offensive and defensive lineman selection while Mustang sophomore Pieter Venter was honored for his kicking duties.
The Humboldt Cubs landed two selections on the list in senior offensive lineman Noah Johnson and sophomore defensive back Conor Haviland.
Senior running back Trevor Wilson was the lone selection from Marmaton Valley.
The Topeka Capital-Journal honored three Mustangs in Venter and Zimmerman in addition to senior running back and defensive back Isaac Vink.
Humboldt’s Johnson made this list as well along with junior lineman Tucker Hurst, senior running back and defensive back Jacob Barker and junior linebacker Dagen Goodner.
MVHS’s Wilson also found a spot on the list as a linebacker.
The website Sports In Kansas also put out its annual top 100 seniors and Humboldt’s Johnson and Barker and Marmaton Valley’s Wilson were named as honorable-mention selections for their classes.
