HUMBOLDT — Matt Habiger and Johnny Bone Jr. were big winners Friday evening at Humboldt Speedway.
Bone took home the top prize in the Midwest Modified $1,000-to-win feature race. Habiger, a long-time competitor locally, picked up his first feature win at the speedway in the pure stock division.
Bone’s win came after he tracked down and passed eventual runnerup Scott Daniels. Justin Folk fought back from deep in the field to claim third, followed by Ryan Whitworth and Jesse Folk Jr.
Habiger held off Jeremy Willard in the pure stock feature. Mike Aiello finished third, followed by Jeremy Harris and Eddie Coulter.
Jay Laymons Jr. took the early lead from his front row starting spot in the B-modified feature and never looked back for the win. Dalton Kirk pressured Laymons late in the race but had to settle for second. Levi McGowen was third, Mike Letterman fourth and Scott Collins fifth.
Tyler James claimed another factory stock feature win. Brandon Tindle took second, followed by Colton Bunn, Matt Weintz and Paul Snyder.
Races resume this Friday evening at 8 o’clock.
