GARNETT — Uniontown High’s Eagles and Yates Center High’s Wildcats played in their final regular season golf tournament last Monday. The girl golfers head to the postseason Monday.
The two area high school girls golf teams competed in the Anderson County High Invitational tournament in Garnett. Uniontown placed sixth as a team with a score of 431 and Yates Center was ninth with a 479. Girard won the tournament with a team total of 369.
On Monday Uniontown hosts a Kansas Class 3-2-1A regional tournament at Fort Scott’s Woodland Hills Golf Course. Tee time is 8:30 a.m.
Uniontown is joined by Yates Center, Caney Valley, Eureka, Fredonia, Galena and West Franklin. The top three teams plus the next five lowest individual scorers, not members of the three qualifying teams, advance to the state tournament.
