Area high school golf teams competed in league tournaments Monday.

Uniontown High’s Eagles and Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats were in Pleasanton at the Three Rivers League tournament. The 18-hole event was played on the Deer Trace Golf Course at Linn Valley.

Eagle head coach Jason Tourtillott said the course was wet from the Sunday night rain storms. A slight mist continued until golfers reached the third hole Monday morning.

“I thought our kids did a good job overall but definitely could have played better,” Tourtillott said. “Seth Sympson did a really nice job of managing the course. The other kids found some trouble with out-of-bounds, chipping and putting.”

Sympson shot a personal-best 94 as the seventh-place medalist. He led the Eagles to a fifth-place finish with a 431. Jayhawk-Linn won the TRL team championship with a 353. The Jayhawks’ Jaden Proffitt and Reece Dawson shot 82s to go first and second, respectively.

Uniontown’s Zach Travis carded a 109 while teammates Chance Hoener and Brenden Wood each had a 114. Drew George came in at 122.
