CHANUTE — Iola sophomore Mosiah Fawson finished the regular season with a gold medal after taking Thursday’s tournament at Chanute High School.

The win is Fawson’s  third tournament title. The Mustangs now head into the paddock for a two-week break before returning to Chanute May 8 for the regional tournament.

“It was the windiest day we have had this season, but it was fulfilling,” Iola coach Chris Belknap said.

The No. 1 doubles team Trapper Boren and Brodie Thompson also performed, but bowed out before the medal round.

The No. 2 doubles team of Maddux Franklin and Logan Belknap also made an early exit Thursday. The final results were not available at press time.
