Fillies end regular season with two wins

GARNETT — Iola High’s volleyball team earned two wins to end the regular season Tuesday afternoon.
Iola defeated Prairie View, 25-9 and 25-11. Emery Driskel had 12 kills, an ace and an assist. Kyra Moore had 14 assists, two aces and four kills. Emma Piazza recorded 11 assists, four kills and two aces. Sydney Wade had a kill and an assist. Addie Haar had three kills and an ace. Mikaela Platt had two kills, Toni Macha had an ace and Ashlie Shields had a kill.
The Fillies won their second match against Anderson County in three sets. Iola lost the first set, 25-21, then won 26-24 and 25-11. Driskel had 14 kills and Addie Haar had 12 kills. Emma Piazza had 10 assists, seven kills and two aces. Kyra Moore also had 10 assists, to go with two kills and an ace. Sydney Wade and Toni Macha each had a kill.
Iola (22-13) hosts a Class 4A-II Sub-State bracket starting at 3 p.m. Saturday. Iola plays the second match against Parsons (6-27). If they win, they will face the winner of the first match between Anderson County (23-13) and Prairie View (4-27).
