IMS golf team ends season with 50 medals

Iola Middle School’s golf season has come to an end. The team placed in the top six eight times this season. Overall, Iola’s golfers earned 50 medals.
The team took second at Jayhawk-Linn, third at Iola’s home tournament, third at Parsons, third at Caney Valley, fourth at Anderson County, fifth at Pittsburg, fifth at Chanute and sixth at Coffeyville.
For the girls, Chloe Hagerman brought home 10 medals. She  won at Anderson County, Caney Valley and Parsons. She placed second at Iola’s home tournament and Jayhawk-Linn.  She won third place at Pittsburg and Chanute. Mia Aronson won four medals. She took first at Pittsburg, third at Iola’s home tournament, second at Anderson County and fifth at Parsons. Annika Hobbs won three medals. She took seventh at Parsons and 10th at Caney Valley.
Nick Zimmerman led the boys with seven medals. He earned sixth at Jayhawk-Linn, ninth at Iola and tenth at Anderson County and Parsons. Derek Bycroft won six medals. He won third at Iola’s tournament and sixth at Caney Valley. Blake Ashmore won four medals. He won ninth at Caney Valley. Jeremy Weldman won four medals, placing eighth overall at Jayhawk-Linn. Cason Barker won fifth at Jayhawk-Linn and won four medals overall. Eason Cheung and Jackson Cone each won one medal. Elijah Luedke and Parker Smith each won three medals.
Karson McGraw, Alex Sager and John Lynn all played one time — at a split tournament in Iola and Chanute. Gentry Dougherty played twice, at Coffeyville and Iola. Hunter Baughn played at the split tournament and Coffeyville.
