IMS golfers play well on Katy Course

PARSONS — Iola Middle School’s golf team was at Parsons’ Katy Golf Course Thursday. 

The team played at Coffeyville Tuesday, not Parsons, as reported in Thursday’s Register.

“We didn’t win any medals but the Ponies played very well,” said Stacey Crusinbery, IMS golf coach.

Garrett Wade shot a 51 for 14th and Taylor Sell came in at 54 for 19th place. Colby Works carded a 55 for the day.

Mason Key shot a 61 followed by Ryan Eyster at 62  and Toni Macha at 63.

Matt Percy of Central Heights was the top medalist with a 37. There were 53 players competing in the Parsons Middle School tournament.

Iola finished with a team total of 221 for sixth place. Coffeyville won it with a  180.

The Pony golfers conclude the season Monday in the IMS Invitational, which was postponed from April 4. 

The tournament play begins at 3 p.m. at the Allen County Country Club.
