LEBO — Shooting woes hampered Southern Coffey County High’s Lady Titans in their second Lyon County League game of the season Friday.
The Lady Titans lost 45-37 to host Lebo High’s Lady Wolves. It put the Lady Titans at 0-2 in LCL play and 1-2 overall.
Tonight, the Lady Titans host Marais Des Cygnes Valley in league play.
Southern Coffey County shot 23 percent 13 of 57 from the field and sank just 9 of 19 free throw attempts.
Lebo was up 21-18 at halftime and extended its lead to five points, 35-30, by the end of the third quarter. The Lady Wolves outscored the Lady Titans 10-7 in the fourth quarter.
“The girls are working hard. It’s just a matter of knocking down more shots,” said Jeff True, Lady Titan head coach.
“We only had 10 turnovers against Lebo’s tough man-to-man defense.”
True pointed out that senior guard Samantha Jacob did a good job of breaking their pressure at the point. Ashton Isch fired in 12 points and had three steals.
Katelyn Rogers pulled down eight rebounds. Kristin Stephens and Sarah Webb had six rebounds each.
Jessica Robertson led the Lady Wolves with 11 points.
In junior varsity play, Lebo won 37-23. Martyna Hegwald had seven points for SCCH.
