Iola’s Aysha Houk, left, and Carter Hutton both took home third place in their respective divisions Saturday in the “Pitch, Hit and Run” competition at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The competition, which gauges several skills youngsters need to be successful on the baseball or softball diamond, was sponsored by Scotts Turf Builder. Houk capped a busy weekend by traveling from Kansas City to St. Joseph, Mo., where her traveling softball team, the SEK Sluggers, won a tournament championship Sunday.
