Middle school Wildcats take 2-of-3 from JHL

The Marmaton Valley Middle School girls won two out of three on Monday when they hosted Jayhawk-Linn. 

The A-Team opened things up with a big 35-16 win. The Wildcats began with a 20-2 first quarter and rode that to victory. 

Janae Granere had 16 points followed by 10 for Payton Scharff. Brynn Newman had four, Nasha Gregory and Madison Lawson each had two and Roslyn Houk had one. 

The other winner was the MVMS C-Team who won their two-quarter game 20-2.

Katie Bigelow and Katrina Woods both had six points while Kaitlyn Drake had four and Gregory and Gracie Yoho each had two points. 

The B-Team lost 18-13. 

After falling behind 13-2 at the half, the Wildcats just couldn’t find enough steam for a comeback. 

Houk had five points, Drake, Schmidt and Yoho each had two and Tayven Sutton and Woods each had a point. 

The girls also hosted Altoona-Midway on Tuesday and will travel to Yates Center today.
