The Allen Red Devils’ three-game win streak came to an end following a 92-73 loss to the 18th-ranked North Central Missouri College Pirates.

Allen’s mistakes added up early. The Pirates jumped out to a 48-27 lead by halftime and rode their double-digit cushion to the final whistle during Wednesday’s contest.

“I give all the credit to North Central Missouri,” Allen coach Patrick Nee said. “They showed why they’re ranked No. 18 but we played really flat and looked like a tired team. We didn’t guard or play to our standard. But it’s one game and we will move forward.”

After a rough first half, the Red Devils seemed much more competitive in the second. Had the game started after halftime, Allen would have fallen 46-44. Sophomore guard Jayson Demcher had a team-leading 24 points, followed by freshman forward Clyde Davis Jr. with 14 and freshman guard Nyjah Noyes coming off the bench for 10 points.

After hitting a pair of crucial 3-pointers in Tuesday’s overtime victory, freshman forward Logan Shockley proved his work under the basket Wednesday with a team-leading 11 rebounds, followed by Noyes with eight, then Davis Jr. with six. Shockley also tied Davis Jr. for the team lead in assists with four each. Noyes was one steal short of tying freshman guard Jaden Goudeau for the team lead in steals with two.

With the loss, the Red Devils fall to 6-3 overall but have plenty of time to improve their overall record ahead of the January 2026 start of the Jayhawk Conference season.

The Red Devils have a busy next few days. They faced Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday, then host Northern Oklahoma College Enid at 6 p.m., Saturday and on Monday host North Arkansas College at 7 p.m.

“We’re hoping to start to get some injured players back,” Coach Nee said. “We haven’t been at full strength all season but after Thanksgiving we should be almost full strength. It’s college basketball. Every team deals with these things and it’s just next man up.”
