Pony, Lancer athletes take medals

RICHMOND — Iola Middle School athletes continued their early season success, earning several medals at the Central Heights Invitational Thursday.

The IMS seventh-grade boys took second place behind Royster of Chanute. Royster racked up 125.25 points. The Ponies were second at 65. The seventh-grade girls finished with 16 points, good for seventh. Burlington won that division with a score of 86.

Meanwhile, the Iola eighth-grade boys took seventh with 35 points, behind first-place Burlington’s 1-2. The eighth-grade girls also were seventh at 16 points. Anderson County’s girls were tops at the eighth-grade level with 121 points.

Crest Middle School also competed. Eighth-grade boys finished second with 73 points. The seventh-grade girls were fourth with 42 points. The seventh-grade boys were 10th with one point.
