BURLINGTON — Yates Center High’s Nick Schemper finished only one spot higher in the standings Tuesday than he did in another tournament one day earlier.
But his play on the golf course improved markedly over that 24 hours, Wildcat head coach Kevin Barnes said.
Schemper shot an 89 to finish in 16th at the Burlington Invitational, one stroke out of medaling.
“Nick played much better than he did (Monday) at Erie, even though it was much more windy today,” Barnes said.
Chase Coble of Southern Lyon County was the first-place medalist with a 77. Burlington won the team championship at 326.
