Southern Coffey Co. girls defeat Altoona-Midway

YATES CENTER — Southern Coffey County High’s girls evened their record at 2-2 on the season Friday in fine fashion.
The Lady Titans wrapped up their play at the Wildcat Winter Classic with a 55-13 win over Altoona-Midway.
“It was a good game in that we were to get everyone some minutes,” Lady Titan head coach Jeff True said.
Southern Coffey County led 16-2 after one quarter and 34-6 by halftime.
Chenae Newkirk led the way with 11 points, six assists and three steals. Kalyn Deal followed with nine points, six assists and three steals, while Brittne Brite had eight points and nine rebounds. Miranda Alumbaugh chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds.
Jordan Graham’s six points paced Altoona-Midway.
Southern Coffey County travels to Madison Tuesday and hosts Lebo Friday to wrap up its pre-Christmas schedule.
