EUREKA — Recovering an onside kick to start the game, Uniontown High’s Eagles used it to take an 8-0 lead over host Eureka High’s Tornadoes Friday night.
The Tornadoes scored on a big 67-yard pass play late in the first quarter then drove to the go-ahead score after a Eagle fumble. Up 14-8 with six minutes left in the game, Eureka increased its lead then returned an interception for a score.
Uniontown was on the short end of a 26-8 score, dropping the Eagles to 1-2 this season.
Jordan Woods scored the Eagle touchdown and had 75 yards rushing and 19 yards receiving. Seth Sympson had two catches for 30 yards. Max Labbe led the Eagle defense with 10 tackles.
Uniontown hosts McCauley High for homecoming this Friday.
