CHEROKEE — Marmaton Valley High’s girls are seeded fifth for next week’s 2013 Lancer Classic, hosted by Southeast High School. MARMATON VALLEY’S boys, meanwhile, are the sixth overall seed and will play third-seeded Southeast at 8:30 Tuesday in Pool B. The Wildcats will take on second-seeded Columbus at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Wildcats (4-4) will look for some payback to open tournament play when they take on top-seeded St. Paul at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. St. Paul defeated Marmaton Valley this week in regular season play.
Marmaton Valley then takes on fourth-seeded Columbus at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the second round of Pool A.
Teams in Pool B are Southeast, the host and second overall seed, third-seeded Sunrise Christian Academy and sixth-seeded Oswego.
Teams in Pool A are top-seeded St. Paul, fourth-seeded Sunrise Christian Academy and fifth-seeded Oswego.
Records from pool play will determine matchups in Friday’s fifth-place, third-place and championship games.
