Yates Center girls fall to Hartford

YATES CENTER — Points were hard to come by for Yates Center High’s girls Friday.
The Wildcats could only muster three points after one period and 10 points at halftime.
Meanwhile, visiting Hartford took the early lead and cruised from there in a 48-32 win.
The loss drops Yates Center to 2-8 on the season.
“We weren’t very aggressive offensively,” Yates Center head coach Abbie Collins said. “They just outhustled on the floor tonight.”
The Jaguars led Yates Center 21-7 at the break and 36-16 after three periods.
Cherokee Shaffer and Drew Spencer each scored eight points to lead Yates Center. Shaffer also had 10 rebounds.
Ashley Preeo scored 14 and Bronte’ Bailey had 13 to pace Hartford.
Yates Center resumes play Tuesday at West Elk.
