After months of nearly the top of the leaderboards, Iola junior Brooklyn Holloway earned a tournament title after besting the competition at the Girard Invitational Thursday.
Holloway picked up her first title of the year after shooting a nine over par at Thursday’s Girard Invitational.
Holloway was a stroke ahead of her nearest competitor, Sage Callahan of Independence, while carding a 45 on the Par 36 Crawford Hill Golf Course. Senior Briley Prather was not far from Holloway’s mark, medaling after taking 16th Thursday. Prather finished the par 36 course 23 over par. She carded a 59.
Prather and Holloway will not have long to celebrate Thursday’s victories. They return to the links Monday for the Anderson County Invitational. The tournament will take place on the par 36 course located inside the Garnett Country Club. Tee time is 4 p.m.
