Iola High School’s dueling pair of golfers placed a few strokes ahead of one another following a strong showing at Thursday’s Girard Invitational.
Iola senior Briley Prather finished just behind her junior counterpart Brooklyn Holloway. Both had a pair of top 20 finishes.
Holloway finished 14th, carding a 57 — 21 over par for the nine-hole, 36-par course. Prather completed the course in 59 strokes, 23 over par, for 17th place.
Prather and Holloway return to the links Tuesday for the Chanute Invitational at the Stone Creek Golf Course inside the Chanute Country Club.
