Murry, Sell lead Ponies past Chanute

BURLINGTON — The Ponies faced rival Chanute in seventh-grade action in the Burlington Tournament on Saturday.
Reece Murry led the Ponies over their rivals to the south 28-11.
Murry scored 11 points and had seven rebounds with three steals.
Iola used a 13-0 run in the second quarter to pull away.
Chloe Sell also had a great game with nine points and nine rebounds.
Jenna Curry scored six points and Josie Plumlee had two.
The seventh-grade Ponies lost their other game of the day when they played St. Mary’s and fell 37-24.
Curry led the team with 12 points in the contest and Murry chipped in six.
Logan Ulrich scored four points and Plumlee added a pair.

EIGHTH GRADE
The Ponies’ eighth-grade squad didn’t have the same good fortune against Chanute. Iola fell 47-23.
McKenna Orear had a very strong game with eight points on 4-of-5 shooting. Jenna Miller and Becca Sprague each had four points.
Hannah Gardner, Kailey Schinstock and Lauryn Holloway each had two points. Andi Reynolds added one.
The Ponies also lost to Burlington by a score of 29-21.
Sprague had a huge game with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and four rebounds.
Holloway added four points and Miller had two. Gardner contributed one.
