Reece Murry’s 11 points and seven rebounds led the Iola seventh-grade varsity team to a 23-19 victory over Santa Fe Trail on Tuesday night in Iola.
Chloe Sell and Jenna Curry each added four points while Curry led the team with eight rebounds.
Josie Plumlee and Ally Ellis each had two points to account for Iola’s other points. Plumlee led the defensive effort for the Ponies with three steals in the game.
7th-GRADE JV
The seventh-grade junior varsity Ponies fell behind 5-2 at the end of the first quarter and were unable to recover as the Chargers notched a 11-8 victory.
Maci Miller finished the game as Iola’s leading scorer with four points while Mariah VanNice and Triniti Loveall each had two.
8th-GRADE VARSITY
The Iola eighth-grade varsity fell 30-20 to Santa Fe Trail.
Lauryn Holloway led the Ponies with nine points and nine rebounds. Jenna Miller finished with four points.
Hannah Gardner had three points while Becca Sprague and McKenna Orear each had two.
8th GRADE JV
The eighth-grade junior varsity Ponies lost 13-0 to the Chargers.
