The Iola High School golf team’s pursuit of a bid to the state tournament fell short during Monday’s regional tournament at the Stony Creek Golf Course in Chanute.
Briley Prather, a senior, was seven strokes from dislodging a Frontenac sophomore from the final spot to qualify for state.
Prather carded a 119 for 47 over par, hampered by bouts of rain throughout the day.
Junior Brooklyn Holloway carded a 122 for 50 over par in her final day on the links this season.
