Eagles stay perfect

RIVERTON  — Top-ranked Uniontown High’s Eagles stayed undefeated with three more wins Thursday night.
“We had a good night of volleyball against quality teams. They tested us in many aspects of the game,” said Jackie Hall, Eagle head volleyball coach.
Uniontown  (13-0) has been ranked atop the Kansas Class 2A volleyball poll by the Kansas Volleyball Association the past two weeks.
The Eagles defeated Columbus 25-9, 25-17 led by Jacy Ermel. Ermel served for nine points and had three solo blocks at the net.
Jessie Camac put down four kills and Hayden Rathbun had three kills. Tayler Shook was credited with 16 assists. Tiffany Poyner had 11 digs.
Host Riverton took the Eagles to three games. Uniontown won 25-18, 19-25, 25-15. Poyner served up 13 points and made 29 digs.
Ermel had eight kills while Rathbun had six. Camac had five kills and five solo blocks. Jessica Harrison put down four kills and put up five solo blocks. Shook had 24 set assists.
Uniontown made it a sweep by beating Galena 25-11, 25-13. Camac served for nine points and had four kills. Ermel posted 11 kills and Shook had 22 assists. Poyner made 19 digs.
The Eagles host St. Paul and Northeast-Arma Tuesday for “Dig Pink Night,” for breast cancer awareness. It’s also senior parent night.
